REFRATTARI GENERALI SRL was established in 1984 by a group of technicians and salespeople from leading companies in the insulating refractory sector and opened its warehouse in Nerviano (Milan, Italy).

REFRATTARI GENERALI begins its first large-scale and long-lasting distribution partnerships with prestigious brands such as REFRATTARI RAVENNA, RADEX and MANVILLE.

REFRATTARI GENERALI undertakes a new collaboration agency with SIRMA company for all silico aluminous products.

REFRATTARI GENERALI creates a new reality RGS Refractory Global Service SRL to provide an installation service for refractory products, turnkey systems and maintenance of industrial furnaces.

REFRATTARI GENERALI begins a long and important collaboration with the Techno-Physik group for Thermax pressed vermiculite for the heating sector, both with standard sheets and those manufactured to the customer's design and within a few years it finds itself acquiring a good part of the Italian market for the combustion chambers of stoves, fireplaces and for boiler doors.

REFRATTARI GENERALI opens the company REFRATTARI GENERALI VENETO which, located near Padua, immediately becomes an important reality in the Italian insulating and refractory market, adding a strategic logistics and warehouse hub for the continuous growth of the group.

REFRATTARI GENERALI consolidates its position in its traditional refractory markets and also grows in the sector of industrial gaskets die-cut to design and cut with Waterjet machines.

REFRATTARI GENERALI withdraws RGS from the market and incorporates it into its staff, changing the company strategy and concentrating on the distribution of materials and no longer on direct installation, starting to work with all the installers in the sector with its own materials.

After becoming the largest European distributor, REFRATTARI GENERALI obtains an important Morgan Official Distributor contract, consolidating its leadership in this sector.

In November, Cesare Larghi transferred his shares in the company to his children, Gianluca and Francesca. The goal is to carry forward the business founded by Cesare and other partners 41 years earlier and to modernize processes in order to be faster and more competitive in an evolving, increasingly dynamic and demanding market.

In February, Francesca Larghi joined the board of directors of REFRATTARI GENERALI SRL as a new member. In August, Gianluca Larghi was appointed Chairman of the Board and CEO, after 16 years of experience working alongside Cesare Larghi and Alberto La Gatta.
